Privacy Policy

1) Controller

2) General Information on Data Processing

We process personal data exclusively in accordance with the GDPR, the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and applicable special laws. Our IT infrastructure is operated entirely in our own data center in Germany. We do not use external tracking, analytics or marketing services and no personal data is transferred to third countries.

3) Provision of the Website (Server Log Files)

When accessing our website, the following data is automatically processed: IP address, date and time of access, requested page, browser type, operating system and referrer URL. Processing is carried out to ensure the security and stability of the website on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Server log data is deleted after a maximum of 14 days.

4) Cookies

Our website uses one technically necessary cookie (“defencetec_consent”, storage period 180 days), which solely stores your privacy selection (legal basis: section 25(2) TDDDG). Cookies for web analytics with Matomo are only set after your explicit consent (see section 12). No other cookies are used.

5) Contact

If you contact us by email or telephone, we process the transmitted personal data solely to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR or Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Data will be deleted after completion of processing unless statutory retention obligations apply.

6) Data Processing in Our Business Areas

DEFENCETEC Services

Within the scope of armed security services, personal data is processed for contract fulfillment, compliance with legal obligations and legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 GDPR in accordance with the German Weapons Act and War Weapons Control Act.

DEFENCETEC Trade

In the manufacture and trade of weapons and ammunition, data processing is carried out in particular for identity verification, reliability checks and statutory documentation obligations on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR.

DEFENCETEC Technology

In the field of hosting and private AI infrastructures, processing takes place exclusively within our own infrastructure in Germany on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

7) Storage Duration

Personal data is stored only as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention obligations. Server log files are stored for a maximum of 14 days. Commercial and tax documents are subject to statutory retention periods of 6 or 10 years.

9) Automated Decision-Making

Automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR does not take place.

10) Technical and Organizational Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures pursuant to Art. 32 GDPR, including TLS encryption, physical access control, role-based authorization concepts, logging of security-relevant access and regular security assessments.

11) Supervisory Authority

Responsible supervisory authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia, P.O. Box 20 04 44, 40102 Düsseldorf, Germany.

12) Web Analytics with Matomo

The controller for web analytics is the operator of the DEFENCETEC website (see section 1). We use the analytics software Matomo for statistical reach measurement and to improve our content and user experience.

Matomo is operated exclusively on DEFENCETEC’s own infrastructure in Germany (self-hosted, tracker domain: matomo.defencetec.net). No data is transferred to third parties; no transfer to third countries takes place.

Matomo is only activated after you have given your consent via the privacy banner. Without consent, no tracking requests are sent and no Matomo cookies are set. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with section 25(1) of the German Telecommunications and Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG). You can withdraw your consent at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer; the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.

Categories of data collected: pages visited and time of access, shortened (anonymised) IP address, browser and device type, referring page (referrer) and click and download events. The IP address is shortened before storage.

If consent is given, Matomo sets the following first-party cookies: “_pk_id” (recognition, duration 13 months) and “_pk_ses” (session tracking, duration 30 minutes). Your consent decision is stored in the “defencetec_consent” cookie for 180 days. Statistical data is stored only for as long as required for the purposes stated above.
